Pokemon!

So a few weeks ago I got an email from a former professor of mine asking if I'd make her son's 13th Birthday cake. Of course I said yes, I just needed an idea. She said that he was really into Pokemon and that he'd really love a Pokemon cake. At first I was stumped. I had no idea what this would entail... I googled Pokemon and they have their own site and I though "hmm, maybe I'll look at the characters and get an idea from that." Well, there are probably close to 500 Pokemon!!! I was back to square one. I then just googled "Pokemon cakes" and got my idea from others' ideas. I ended up making a chocolate root beer cake with vanilla frosting and then covered and decorated in fondant.

Wedding Shower

This past semester one of my friends asked if I would make her friend's wedding shower cake. I ended up making a funfetti cake with homemade raspberry buttercream filling.

Mother's Day Cake

This was a chocolate cake I made for my mom for Mother's Day. It was a chocolate cake with a homemade raspberry filling and them topped off with a chocolate ganache frosting. The flowers were made out of fondant.

Mmmmm, chocolate!

This was just a basic chocolate cake with chocolate buttercream frosting.

Red Velvet Cheesecake

So this was one of my first creations, a red velvet cheesecake. The bottom layer is red velvet cake, then a crustless cheesecake, and then another layer of red velvet cake on top. And of course I used cream cheese frosting on it!

Let's see....

Well, this is my first blog, so bear with me as I learn the ropes. I love to bake and one of my dreams is to some day own my own bakery, I already have the name picked out (Sweet Creations). Maybe this will be the start of that career, we'll see!
